Jane Manwelyan (she/her) is a New York-based theater and filmmaker who arrived in the US from Russia at the age of six. Working at the intersection of culture and ecology, she is the co-founder of Arts & Ecology Incorporated and is the Artistic Director of the Catskills Creative Residency. Jane’s work has been supported by NYSCA, NYFA, LMCC, Pioneer Works, Columbia University and shared at venues including the Martha Graham Dance Studio, New Museum, Metropolitan Museum of Art, and St. Marks Church in-the-Bowery.
Jane is currently working on Greater than Gatsby, a theatrical adaptation centering race, gender, and the legacy of “The Great Gatsby.” Her short film, Mothers and Lovers, is currently in post-production.
Founded in 2018, the Catskills Creative Residency attracts talent from across the globe to collaborate with Catskills-based artists and share work with diverse audiences.
